The Broome County district attorney is using outdoor advertising to convey a message to local drug dealers.

Stephen Cornwell has arranged for billboards in Binghamton to warn those selling illegal drugs that they should expect to "go to prison."

One of the signs recently went up on Lewis Street, just west of NYSEG Stadium.

The signs proclaim that drug dealers "don't get deals in Broome County." The billboards feature the tag line: "Get Out... Or We Will Take You Out!"

According to the district attorney's Facebook page, the signs were paid for by money seized from drug dealers. The page promises more billboards will be showing up this summer.

Cornwell could not be reached Tuesday afternoon to discuss the billboard initiative.
