A Town of Binghamton man who has been missing since Sunday is back, safe at home.

Broome County Sheriff's officials had been searching for 73 year old William E. Bryan, after he left his home on Hawleyton Road Sunday morning and was last seen on Brady Hill Road in the Town of Conklin Sunday evening.

The authorities received a call from Bryan's family at around 10 p.m. Monday saying he had returned home.

Bryan told Sheriff's Deputies that he had run into an old friend, and that they decided to take a trip out of town.

He appeared in good health, but was taken to Binghamton General Hospital for an evaluation as a precaution.

In a statement, the Sheriff's Office said authorities wanted to thank members of the public for their many phone calls and assistance in the investigation.
