Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Police have arrested two Broome County residents after a report that car parts were being stolen from a parked Lincoln sedan at a home in the Town of Afton.

Investigators say 25-year-old James Sayman Jr. of Harpursville and 20-year-old Ian Albrechta of Port Crane were charged with third-degree auto stripping, a misdemeanor. A third man, 24-year-old Jordan Ryder of Afton, also faces the same charge in connection with the incident.

According to New York State Police, the men are accused of jacking up the sedan which was parked outside a residence on Oak Hill Road. They then allegedly sawed off the car's catalytic converter. The part was sold for scrap.

The men were ordered to appear in Afton town court on February 29.
