A Broome County resident was sent to jail after he was accused of stalking and menacing another person.

Authorities said 57-year-old Martin Brown of Lisle was arrested on Monday.

According to New York State Police, Brown is accused of engaging in "a course of conduct designed to instill fear" in the other person.

Investigators said the incident was reported on May 4. They provided no details as to the specific allegations.

Brown was charged with misdemeanor counts of third-degree stalking and third-degree menacing. He was arraigned in Cincinnatus town court and sent to Cortland County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Police said an order of protection was issued against Brown on behalf of the person who complained of being stalked.
