Broome County Man Charged After Dispute

Police say a 69-year-old Town of Lisle man was arrested following a reported fight.

According to New York State Police, Erford Ellis was charged with harassment and resisting arrest. He also faces a count of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

Ellis was arrested around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday after troopers learned of a domestic dispute that occurred earlier.

Police say an investigation determined Ellis had punched and choked another person during the fight. They say he resisted while being placed under arrest.

Ellis was arraigned in Lisle town court and released without bail being required.

The court issued an order of protection against Ellis.
