If you owe fines for late book returns at the Broome County Public Library, a can of beans might get you off the hook.

Through January 2nd, patrons can get one dollar off their outstanding fees by bringing in a non-perishable food donation for the Catholic Charities Food Bank.

Library officials say even if you don’t have an outstanding library fine, donations of non-perishable food items for Catholic Charities would be appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off at the main library on Court Street, Binghamton during regular library hours.
