Broome County Jail Inmate Stabbed in the Face With Pencil

An inmate at the Broome County Correctional Facility is accused of attacking his cellmate with a pencil.

According to the Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division, 38 year old Louis Acevedo, who had been arrested as a fugitive from justice from Florida, is accused of repeatedly stabbing the other man in the face overnight on October 9th.

The corrections officer on duty in the unit intervened and stopped the attack.

Acevedo is now also charged with assault.

The other inmate required medical treatment for wounds around his eye.
