The Broome County Health Department is taking steps in the fall to prevent falls.

A Fall Prevention Awareness Day is being held September 23 for older adults at the center court of the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.

Organizers say they will promote the Better Balance for Broome Project with information on fall prevention from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will feature community experts from agencies like the Broome and State Offices for Aging and the Broome and State Health Departments as well as demonstrations of Tai Chi for Older adults and other physical activity programs.

Information on preventing falls can be found by contacting the Broome County Health Department at www.gobroomecounty.com or Broome Office for Aging.
