Broome County law enforcement and other emergency services officials probably have never  handled so much wealth in their individual careers.

At around 7:30 a.m. December 17th, an armored truck carrying $10 million worth of silver bars rolled off Interstate 81 near Castle Creek, spilling the riches into the grass.

The truck was traveling from Rochester to Queens.

One lane of the highway was closed while authorities scooped up the sliver bars and waited for another armored vehicle to arrive to gather the goods.

The driver of the truck was not hurt but one of two passengers suffered a leg injury.

The cause of the crash has not been announced by authorities.
