Broome County Animal Cruelty Case Gets Probation

A Broome County woman is on probation for six months after pleading guilty to felony aggravated cruelty to animlals.

In July, three dead dogs were found at the home of Christine Macan. Also found were several small animals that were dead in cages and 13 dogs in extremely malnourished condition.

After completing probation, Macan could withdraw her plea to the felony charge and plead to a lesser charge.

She would still be banned from owning or taking care of animals.
