Broome and Tioga Counties Charges for Thefts From Employer

An Owego woman, who had pleaded not guilty earlier this month in Vestal to grand larceny in an alleged theft of thousands of dollars from her employer, is facing an additional grand larceny count.

Vestal Police say 47 year old Maria McGuane was accused of stealing $4,827 from Impressions by Brianna accessory boutique, writing personal checks at Sam’s Club in Vestal without the owner’s knowledge between September, 2006 and March, 2011.

McGuane is also charged with felony grand larceny in Tioga County, where the business is located, alleging she stole over $50,000 between September, 2006 and May, 2012.

Court papers indicate the amount taken in money or products missing was about $100,000.

The woman has also pleaded not guilty to the Tioga County charge.
