Bronx Man Suspected of Drug Dealing

A downstate man is accused of intending to deal drugs in Delaware and Otsego Counties.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say they searched the Rock Inn Motel on State Highway 23 in Oneonta and Police Dog, Ozzie located 65 bags of heroin, 17 wraps of crack cocaine, two grams of powder cocaine, marijuana and more than $1,000 cash.

21 year old Pate Balde of the Bronx is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Deputies say they believed Balde planned to sell heroin and cocaine from the motel room.

The investigation was a cooperative effort involving the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Oneonta City Police and the New York State Police in Oneonta.

Balde was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $150,000 bail.
