A downstate man is pleading not guilty in connection with burglaries in the Binghamton area, including a Vestal armed home-invasion.

35 year old David Torres of the Bronx is accused of tying up a teenager in a Vestal home in August of 2015.

He was indicted on felony burglary, robbery and grand larceny charges in March.

Prosecutors say Torres and at least one other person entered the Vestal home on Drexel Drive, believing there was no one home, but found the teenaged girl inside and tied her up.  They reportedly stole over $3,000 worth of items before the girl’s father returned to the house and they forced him, at gunpoint, to lay down in the driveway until they fled.

Torres is also accused of working with another suspect in burglarizing a home on Highland Avenue in Binghamton in December 2014. A pistol was also reportedly displayed in that incident.

Another burglary linked to Torres is said to have happened on Second Street in Binghamton in August of last year with a person injured with a firearm.
