Break-In Arrest in Johnson City

Police in Johnson City report they have made an arrest following a pair of break-ins in the Village.  Shawn M. Ampula, age 36 of Binghamton was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief in the third degree, a class E Felony.

According to police reports a complaint was made at 1:00 AM on Saturday about a male attempting to gain entry into a residence by breaking a window.  A homeowner observed the suspect breaking a front living room window by using a metal birdfeeder pole.  The suspect then reportedly left the area and was located a short distance away.  Police also received another complaint in that same time frame where the suspect was identified as having entered another residence.

No injuries were reported.  Ampula was arrested and later released on an appearance ticket.
