A Monroeton man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of his 28-year-old wife.

Authorities say 29-year-old Scott Kunkle of Kent Run Road also faces counts of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Pennsylvania State Police say they were called to investigate a reported domestic disturbance at the couple's home on the afternoon of July 14.

Investigators say Patricia Kunkle was unresponsive when troopers arrived. She was pronounced dead about an hour later at Towanda Memorial Hospital.

Scott Kunkle was arrested at his home. He initially was charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. Those charges were formally withdrawn Monday and a new criminal complaint was filed.

Kunkle was released on $50,000 bail after a preliminary arraignment.

The Bradford County coroner ruled Patricia Kunkle's death a homicide. He determined she had sustained blunt force head trauma with multiple contusions to the scalp, along with other injuries.
