A Bradford County, Pennsylvania child is dead after a pickup truck hit the bicycle towing a carriage he was riding in.

Troy Police say a man was bicycling on Porter Road with his two children in the tag-along just before 6 p.m. September 4.

The truck hit the family just as the bicycle started to cross the intersection with Route 6.

The bike and the carriage were dragged under the truck. The father was thrown free from the crash.

He and his 5 year old daughter were taken to Troy Community Hospital.  But the 7 year old boy in the carriage was pronounced dead at the scene.

While authorities continue to investigate the collision, residents and business owners in the area complained to the media about traffic going through the intersection at a high rate of speed.
