On Saturday December 1st the BOCES Panthers, along with others, will be freezin' for a reason when they take part in the annual Polar Plunge to support the Special Olympics of New York.

The Panthers are the team formed by BOCES for this year's event.  They have been fundraising and collecting donations and sponsors for the past few weeks.

This years plunge takes place at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the plunge at noon.

The goal of the event is to raise funds for the Special Olympics of New York.  It costs $400 for one athlete to train and participate in one Special Olympics sport per year.  Athletes and their caregivers are never charged to participate in those sports.

Participants are urged to collect donations from friends, family, and co-workers and then take a dip in the chilly waters of the Whitney Point Reservoir on Saturday.
