Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Binghamton Mayor Richard David is among a bipartisan group of municipal leaders in New York State urging Congress to reject the Republican tax overhaul proposal.  The Binghamton Republican and others are particularly disturbed over the provision that eliminates the State and Local Tax deduction, known as the SALT deduction.

The Associated Press reports over four dozen cities and towns are objecting to the tax overhaul proposal.

The municipal leaders gathered in Albany November 13 and said eliminating the tax deductions would cause a big hardship for residents to be able to stay in their homes and would take tax revenues from already financially-strapped communities.
