Residents of the city of Binghamton have a few weeks to place Christmas trees at the curb for collection by the Department of Public Works.

According to the mayor's office, tree will be picked up on all but one Monday during January. Collection dates are January 7, January 14 and January 28.

Trees won't be collected in Binghamton on January 21 because of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The city of Binghamton general waste pick-up will be on the usual days for the remainder of this week. Tuesday's pick-up occurred a day early because of the New Year's Day holiday.

Public works crews have continued snow and ice removal operations downtown.

Although many sidewalks and parking areas have been treated with salt, slippery conditions are possible so pedestrians should use caution.
