It is arguably the Southern Tier's biggest summertime event and it is set to launch this weekend in Binghamton.

The 29th annual Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally will be held this weekend at Otsiningo Park with three days of live music, hot air balloons, and of course... spiedies!

The event normally draws over 100,000 patrons and this year will be no exception.  The weather is expected to cooperate and musical performances by Grammy award-winning artist Leann Rimes and classic rock group Night Ranger are sure to help usher people through the gates.

Along with the musical performances, Yankees fans will be able to meet former Pinstripe Roy White on Saturday.  Other meet and greets include Kenton Duty, Stefanie Scott, Keegan Allen, and Emily Osment of Disney Channel fame.

Other events include the Kelly LaBare 5K Run/Walk, a car show, and the spiedie cook off.

For a complete list of event, check out the Spiedie Fest website.

Spiedie Fest buttons are still on sale at are Can Man, Weis Markets, and at the MaineSource on Upper Front Street in Binghamton.  They are just $25 for all three days.  You must have a Spiedie Fest button to enter the concert area for the shows and meet and greets.
