Binghamton’s Ross Park Zoo Prepares for the 2013 Season

Speaking on the March 30th edition of the local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, Director Emeritus of the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park, Steve Contento said staff at the Morgan Road facility have been very busy over the winter preparing the grounds for the spring opening on weekends through Earth Day, when the zoo will be open daily.

Kicking off the weekend hours is the zoo's Eggstravaganza event March 30th and 31st featuring a hunt for paper eggs, prizes and activites for children.

Contento and show host, Kathy Whyte, also discussed the role of modern zoos in education and the preservation of species.
