Bob Joseph/WNBF News

Binghamton’s Carousels are opening for the season.

Mayor Richard David is bringing back the First Official Carousel Ride of the year, featuring area students.

The last ceremonial first ride was in 2005 at Recreation Park on the West Side.

The City’s carousels at Rec. Park and the Ross Park Zoo will be open May 24 through Labor Day.

The Recreation Park merry-go-round operates Monday through Friday 3 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and weekends from noon to 7:45 p.m.  The carousel will be open daily from noon to 7:45 starting June 21st.

The Ross Park carousel is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with extended hours until 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays.
