Brian Burgamy's dedication to his profession and the game of baseball is continuing to payoff this season.  The Binghamton Mets infielder has done everything his team could ask for this summer.  With his success this year Burgamy has been named to the Eastern League's Posteason All-Star Team.  Heading into tonight's game against Akron Burgamy is batting .274 with 23 home runs and 75 RBI.

Burgamy's story is pretty amazing.  At 33 years of age most players who were still at Double-A ball would have retired or would be out of a job.  For Burgamy though he wasn't even at Double-A.  He spent the past five seasons playing in Independent Leagues all over the country.  He had not played at the Double-A level since 2007.  New York gave hm the chance to get back into organized ball and he is making the most of it.  He has been a huge part of the success for the Binghamton Mets this season.
