Linda Cimino's Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team dropped an 80-49 decision to the Akron Zips last night at the Akron Invitational.  BU led for much of the early going and was within 10 points mid-way through the second half.

Freshman Imani Watkins led the Bearcats with 19 points.  Jasmine Sina and Kristin Ross scored 9 points each for Binghamton.  Watkins 19 points was the most scored by a BU freshman making her Division I debut since Jasbriell Swain scored 18 points in 2010.

The Bearcats are playing Delaware State this afternoon in Akron in a game being broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Binghamton travels to Canisius next Wednesday for a 7 PM start.  That game will be broadcast on ESPN 1360 AM WYOS.
