A Binghamton woman will be sentenced in January after admitting in federal court that she sexually abused a seven month old baby boy and took two cell phone videos of sexual acts with the baby.

34 year old Latasha Mitchell was turned in to authorities after she left her phone at a witness’ home in Lisle and video was turned over to a Broome County Probation Officer.

Federal investigators say it was determined the videos of the sex acts were made in another country.

Mitchell pleaded guilty in Federal Court in Binghamton to two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child. She had originally been charged in February in Binghamton with criminal sexual act.

Mitchell faces at least 15 years in Federal Prison when she is sentenced January 22 and will be required to register as a sex offender when she is released from prison.

She is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
