The store, which is located just north of Main Street on the West Side, opened in 2012.

Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and New Jersey has announced plans to close several stores to help address a "significant structural operating deficit."

Stores in Binghamton, Herkimer, Rotterdam and the Bronx are among those being shut down.

Signs in the Binghamton store indicate the location is scheduled to close on October 24, although the closing may occur before that.

The Vestal Goodwill store in the Campus Plaza is to remain in operation. That site is much smaller than the Binghamton store.

About six people had worked at the Binghamton location. Many of them are expected to work at the Vestal store.
