People will be able to beat the heat and celebrate the Independence Day holiday with an extra bonus in Binghamton.

The City is waiving its fees for use of City pools until July 6.

Binghamton Mayor Richard David says with continued hot and humid conditions coinciding with the holiday, more families will have the chance to cool off every day at the City's public pools in neighborhood parks.

City pools are open daily from 12:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

North Side Pool is located at Cheri A.Lindsey Memorial Park, the South Side Pool is at the Webster Street Playground, the pool on the West Side is at Recreation Park on Beethoven Street while the pools at Fairview Park on the East Side and MacArthur Park on the South side are always free.

In addition, the Downtown Spray Pad at Columbus Park is free to the public.  That facility is open extended hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through July 6.
