Binghamton University Student Now A SUNY Trustee
A Binghamton University student has been sworn in to serve as a member of the State University of New York board of trustees.
Thomas Mastro was sworn in Wednesday. He will be a voting member of the board because he was elected president of the SUNY Student Assembly.
Mastro was a student at Onondaga Community College in the fall of 2012. He then transferred to SUNY Broome Community College.
Mastro now is studying human development as a junior at Binghamton University.
In a statement released by SUNY, Mastro said he will work "to ensure the student voice is heard and considered" by the board of trustees.
Mastro is to serve a one-year term on the SUNY board.
