You may be able to put Charles Darwin's theory of evolution to use to make your life better.

A discussion on how that's possible is to be held next week on the Binghamton University Vestal campus.

David Sloan Wilson, distinguished professor of biology and anthropology, will explain how evolution is not just a theory that explains the diversity of life. He contends it can be used to improve the quality of everyday life.

Wilson plans to offer insight into how Darwin's theory provides a "powerful public toolkit" that can help make things better.

The professor will offer examples ranging from empowering neighborhoods to teaching at-risk students.

The discussion is scheduled for Monday, September 24, in room G-008 of the Academic "A" building at Binghamton University. It's free and open to the public.
