Binghamton University held its 66th annual Varsity Awards Program last night at the Events Center.  Scholar - Athlete awards, Team MVP winners and numerous other honors were presented..

Kicking off the evening was the 6th annual Senior Recognition Dinner and Ceremony.  90 senior student-athletes received awards as they wrap-up their collegiate careers.  In addition five student trainers were honored for their service to the Athletic Department.

Binghamton University President Dr. Harvey Stenger and Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott spoke at both ceremonies.  Athletes received their awards from their respective coaches.

The final awards of the evening were presented to the female and male athletes of the year.  There were co-winners for Female Athlete of the Year.  Volleyball player Grace Vickers earned one of the awards.  A two-year captain, she was a first team America East All-Conference selection.  Vickers also was named the Most Outstanding Player at the America East tournament.

Also earning Female Athlete of the Year honors was softball player Jessica Bump.  Bump, a Windsor native, leads America East in runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and ranks third in runs batted in.

Earning Male Athlete of the Year honors was wrestler Donnie Vinson, from Whitney Point.  Vinson is a repeat winner from last year.  He finished a perfect 17-0 dual match season this year and had  a 33-3 overall record and a top-12 showing at the NCAA Championship.
