A Binghamton police officer will be acting as a go-between serving  Binghamton Universityoff-campus students.

The joint initiative between the City and University looks to protect and educate a growing number of students living and studying in Binghamton.

Patrolman Dan Flanders has been named a liaison between students and the City of Binghamton Police Department.

Officer Flanders will be stationed at the University Downtown Center and will perform a number of duties including educational programming regarding personal safety, alcohol and drug abuse awareness in addition to patrol duties downtown and on the west side.
