Binghamton to Host Veterans’ Conventions

The Greater Binghamton area is gearing up to host a lot of visitors in July.

Broome County Executive Debra Preston says the area has been selected as the location of the 98^th annual New York State American Legion Convention, the 96^th annual New York State Auxiliary Convention and the 42^nd annual Sons of the American Legion Convention.

The conventions will take place from Thursday, July 13 through Saturday July 16.

This is the 4^th time the Binghamton area has hosted the veterans since 1999.

Organizers say most hotel rooms in downtown Binghamton have already been booked for the convention dates.

The Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena has waived its rental fee for the convention.
