A Binghamton teen is accused of driving a stolen car.

A Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling on Bevier Street at around 3:37 a.m. March 16 when he saw a vehicle matching the description of a stolen car reported earlier to the Binghamton Police Department.

Officials stopped the vehicle on Chenango Street but say 19 year old Corey Wystozaly drove off as the Deputy and a Binghamton Police Officer were getting out of their vehicles.

Authorities say the teen lost control of the stolen vehicle on Chenango Street near West State Street and hit a utility pole.

The vehicle rolled onto its roof and Wystozlay had to be extracted from the wreckage.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  No one else was hurt.

Wystozaly is facing initial charges of speeding, reckless driving, failing to comply and failure to stay in lane but other charges related to the stolen vehicle investigation are expected.
