Binghamton Starts Emergency Notification System

The City of Binghamton is offering another way for residents to stay informed.

A community alert system is being launched to provide emails and text messages about emergencies, traffic issues and weather dangers.  The free service is available by texting your zip code to 888-7777.

Email alerts can be accessed by going to www.nixle.com.

Crime enforcement information is also available through the Binghamton Police facebook page and twitter.

City officials assure residents that their information will not be shared with a third party.
