Binghamton Senators Celebrate 40 Years of Hockey
The Binghamton Senators will be celebrating 40 seasons of professional hockey in Broome County with a "40 Days of Giveaways" promotion. Starting today and continuing through the season opener on Saturday, October 13 the B-Sens are giving away a prize a day to a lucky season ticket, mini plan or coupon book holder. Prizes include jerseys, merchandise, fan experience packages, gift cards and memorabilia from the B-Sens Calder Cup Championship team. Full season ticket holders are eligible to win in all 40 drawings (one entry per seat). In addition 20-game plan and coupon book holders are eligible for the final 20 drawings. 10-game plan holders are eligible for the final 10 drawings and 5-game plan holders are eligible for prizes in the final five drawings. Professional Hockey was brought to Broome County in 1973 by local businessman Jim Matthews. His Broome Dusters team played in the North American Hockey League until the 1977-78 season when they joined the American Hockey League. The Matthews family will be honored before the B-Sens home game vs Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday January 4 at 705 PM.
