It's almost time for vehicle owners in the city of Binghamton to begin paying close attention to the calendar.

The city's alternate side-of-the-street parking regulations take effect on Sunday, December 1.

According to Binghamton officials, on even calendar days, vehicles should be parked on the even side of the street until 5 p.m. On odd calendar days, vehicles should be parked on the odd side of the street until 5 p.m.

Tickets for alternate side violations carry fines of $55. The fine is $30 if it's paid within two business days.

The alternate side rules start at 5 p.m. December 1 and continue through March 15.

The regulations don't apply to metered parking.
