The Binghamton Police officer accused of leaving the scene of a crash she was allegedly involved in, and who brought charges against her boss on sexual harassment allegations after she was suspended for the investigation is now on trial.

Testimony is underway for Kristi Sager.

She’s accused of hitting a parked car on Eldridge Street in February, leaving the scene and asking the vehicle’s owner not to notify authorities.

Witnesses said Sager was driving a Cadillac Sport Utility vehicle when she crashed into the parked vehicle, totaling the car.

Prosecutors say after the Officer located the owner, she asked he not contact authorities. He did call 911 but Sager reportedly left before police arrived.

Since the investigation began, Sager filed sexual harassment charges against Police Chief Joseph Zikuski and the City of Binghamton claiming she was only suspended after rebuffing alleged sexual advances by the Chief.

Chief Zikuski has been place on Administrative Leave with pay as the City and State investigate the complaint filed with the State Division of Human Rights.
