Binghamton Police Investigate a Homicide

City of Binghamton Police are investigating the death of a Binghamton man who was familiar to workers and residents for his antics in the downtown area.

The body of 44 year old Walter Slater was found behind a home on Oak Street at around 7:30 a.m. July 2.

Police are calling the death a homicide.

Police say Slater did not live at the home where his body was found, but was said to live in the First Ward.
