The Binghamton Mets are underway as they face the Reading Fightin' Phils at NYSEG Stadium.  The B-Mets are off to a good start leading the Phils 9-3 in the third inning.   Travis Taijeron hit a three-run home run and Brian Burgamy has blasted a two-run shot for the B-Mets. This is the first of a three-game series versus Reading.

Rainy Lara is on the mound for Binghamton while Jesse Biddle started on the hill for Reading. Lara returns for his first start since May 28th when he sprained his ankle while covering home plate in a game against New Hampshire.  The B-Mets have won five of their last six games and check in with a record of 43-32.  The Fightin' Phils are 33-39.

Tonight is the first meeting between these teams this season.  Binghamton travels to Reading to play a three-game series on August 15, 16 and 17.  Tomorrow night Greg Peavey is the scheduled Binghamton starter while Severino Gonzalez gets the nod for Reading.
