The Binghamton Mets continue to find ways to win.  Last night it was Rhyne Hughes with a ninth-inning three-run home run that sent the game into extra innings and enabled Josh Rodriguez to drive in the winning run in the tenth inning with a walk-off RBI double.  Hughes has been on the disabled list for much of the season.

Today, highly-touted Noah Syndergaard, struck out seven in his first start in Double-A and earned the win as the B-Mets topped Erie 7-2 at NYSEG Stadium.  Syndergaard went six innings to pick up the victory.  Just 20, he was acquired by the New York Mets in the R.A.Dickey deal last winter.  He is rated the Mets' third best prospect by MLB.com.

Richard Lucas hammered a pair of home runs for the B-Mets and Rhyne Hughes hit his second homer in the past two games. Slugging outfielder Cesar Puello also homered notching number 14 this season. With the win the B-Mets up their record to 46-28, tops in the Eastern League.

Binghamton now heads North for a three-games series against the Portland Sea Dogs.  Game time tomorrow is set for 7:00 PM (airtime at 6:45 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Binghamton returns home to host the Trenton Thunder in a four-game series beginning Thursday evening at NYSEG Stadium.
