Binghamton Mets Start Their Ace Against New Hampshire Tonight
The Binghamton Mets host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the rubber game of their three- game series at NYSEG Stadium. Start time tonight is 6:35 with air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF. The B-Mets scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning last night to earn a 4-3 victory. Dilson Herrera plated Kyle Johnson on a sacrifice fly to win the game for Binghamton. Herrera had homered earlier in the contest. Chase Huchingson earned the win in relief to up his record to 2-1.
Tonight, the B-Mets ace Greg Peavey, gets the start on the mound for manager Pedro Lopez. Peavey makes his 13th Double-A start of the season and second against the Fisher Cats. In his previous start against New Hampshire on May 7 he gave up just two hits and threw a complete game to get a 6-0 decision. He has been outstanding coming into tonight's action with an 8-1 record and an ERA of 2.54.
Casey Lawrence counters for the Fisher Cats tonight. He is 7-5 and has an ERA of 2.72. In his last outing he pitched eight innings and gave up a pair of hits against Harrisburg on Friday earning a 5-3 win. Tonight is the final meeting of the season between these two teams. Binghamton continues its homestand with a series against the Bowie Baysox starting tomorrow night at 6:35 PM.
