T J Rivera slammed a Noe Ramirez pitch over the left-field wall to give the Binghamton Mets a walk-off 8-5 win over the Portland Sea Dogs last night in the opening game of their best-of-five Eastern Division Championship Series at NYSEG Stadium.  Rivera  crushed the first pitch from Ramirez for a three-run home run and break a 5-all tie.  It capped a huge night for Rivera who went 4-5 with three runs scored and four RBI.

Portland looked to have the game under control with a 5-1 lead in the sixth inning.  Binghamton cut it to 5-2 after Jayce Boyd drove in Rivera in the sixth.  Tyler Pill had a strong start on the mound for Binghamton as he retired the first 11 batters he faced but left in the sixth after giving up a three run home run to put the Sea Dogs up by four.

The two teams meet again tonight at NYSEG Stadium at 6:35 (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Greg Peavey is tonight's scheduled B-Mets starter.  He brings a record of 11-3 into the game with an ERA of 2.90.  Countering for Portland is Justin Haley.  Haley is 2-2 with an ERA of 1.19.
