The Binghamton Mets battle the Reading Fightin Phils in a doubleheader today beginning at 5:05 in Reading.  Airtime is set for 4:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  Last night the B-Mets edged Reading 8-7.  Brian Burgamy blasted his 23rd home run of the season...a two-run shot in the seventh inning that powered the B-Mets to victory.  Burgamy leads the B-Mets in home runs with 23.

The Portland Sea Dogs maintain a one-game lead over Binghamton heading into tonight's action.  The B-Mets have two games in hand on the Sea Dogs.  Binghamton sports a record of 74-50 while Portland is 76-50.  Binghamton's magic number to clinch a playoff spot is six.

Daisuke Matsuzaka makes a rehab assignment in today's first game for the B-Mets.  Starting the second game is Tyler Pill who is 7-5 with an ERA of 3.78. The B-Mets meet the Fightin Phils in a late afternoon game tomorrow to conclude the series.
