Binghamton Mets outfielder Cory Vaughn was rewarded for an outstanding week by being named the Eastern League's Player of the Week.for May 13-19.  Vaughn hit .400 going 10-25 and drove in nine runs, an Eastern League best last week.

Vaughn is the first B-Met to receive the Eastern League honor this season.  The highlight of his week was a grand slam home run against Akron on May 15.

Vaughn was a fourth round selection of the New York Mets in the 2010 draft.  He played collegiately at San Diego State.  Heading into the week Vaughn is ninth in batting among Eastern League hitters with a .307 average.  Vaughn leads the B-Mets with 27 RBI's in 31 games.

Vaughn will lead Binghamton into action tonight against the New Britain Rock Cats in New Britain.  Game-time is 6:35 PM (6:20 PM airtime on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The B-Mets return home Friday night to host the Portland Sea Dogs in a 7:05 start to kick-of Memorial Day Weekend.
