The Binghamton Mets were on the field today at NYSEG Stadium getting in some throwing and batting practice.  Mild temperatures and sunny skies enabled Manager Pedro Lopez and his team to drill outdoors in preparation for the season opener on Thursday night at 6:35 versus the Akron RubberDucks.

NYSEG Stadium still had some traces of snow in the stands but the field was dry enough to get at least some work done.  Fans will get a chance to meet their new team tomorrow evening at the Doubletree by Hilton in Binghamton at the annual Welcome Back B-Mets Dinner.  Players will hold an autograph session beginning at 5:30 PM.  Dinner will be served at 7 followed by team introductions.

The B-Mets expect to have returning left-hander Darin Gorski on the mound in the opener on Thursday night.  Gorski  was a 7th round draft pick of the New York Mets in 2009.  He split time last season between Binghamton and Triple-A Las Vegas.

All games will again be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF with  weekday morning and afternoon games on ESPN 1360 AM WYOS.  Tim Heiman returns to anchor the broadcasts along with Syracuse University product Gabe Altieri.  Airtime for Thursday's opener is set for 6:20 PM.
