The Binghamton Mets defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-1 last night in Richmond to take a two games to none lead in their Eastern League Championship Series.  Binghamton won both meetings in Richmond and now will host the Flying Squirrels to the conclusion of the best-of-five series.  A Binghamton win tomorrow night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton would give the B-Mets their third Eastern League Championship.

With last night's victory the B-Mets have now won four post-season games in a row on the road.  Should Richmond win tomorrow night the teams would meet at 7:05 on Saturday evening and if that does not decide the series there would be a Game 5 at 6:05 PM on Sunday.

The B-Mets have not won an Eastern League title since 1994.  If they win this series it would be the third title for the B-Mets.  They also won the championship in their first year of operation in 1992.

Because of the large turnout expected tomorrow night the B-Mets have extended Box Office hours until 6 PM today at NYSEG Stadium.  Fans can also get tickets online or by calling 723-METS.
