Road victories have been tough to come by for the Binghamton Mets this season but last night they swept a doubleheader from the Akron RubberDucks in Akron.  In the first game Angel Cuan pitched a complete seven inning game to earn an 8-1 win.

Then in the nightcap Hamilton Bennett made his first professional start and survived a rocky first inning where he gave up three runs to keep the B-Mets in the game.  He retired eight of the last nine batters he faced and completed three innings of work. T J Chism earned the win in relief. Binghamton ended up on top 10-5.

Big innings were key for Binghamton.  The B-Mets exploded for six runs in the first inning of game one and scored seven runs  in the fifth inning of game two.

With the sweep Binghamton's record is now 34-30.  The RubberDucks fall to 39-26.  Matt Bowman will be on the mound tonight for the B-Mets with Toru Murata on the hill for Akron.  Airtime for tonight's action is 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  The teams will conclude the five-game series with another 7:05 game tomorrow night.
