The first-place Binghamton Mets host the Altooona Curve tonight at 6:35 PM (6:20 airtime on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  It's the first of a  three -game series between the two teams.

The B-Mets carry a record of 50-29 into action tonight. This is the first season Binghamton has reached 50 wins prior to July 1.  Binghamton has the best record in the Eastern League and has a nine game lead over Portland and a ten game edge over Trenton.

Erik Goeddel is the scheduled starter for the B-Mets tonight.  He makes his 15th start this season and is 7-2 with an ERA of 3.72.  Nick Kingham counters for Altoona.  He is 1-1 with an ERA of 3.50.

Binghamton boasts three of the top hitters in the Eastern League.  Cesar Puello is batting .336.  That puts him in second place behind Bowie's Henry Urrutia who is hitting .365.  Puello is one of four hitters with 15 home runs...tops in the EL.  Allan Dykstra is fourth in batting average at .317.  Josh Rodriguez ranks eighth at .304.
