Binghamton Mets Enjoying Akron Pitching
The Binghamton Mets are enjoying facing Akron RubberDucks pitching during their five-game road trip. Last night Brian Burgamy hammered a pair of three-run home runs to power Binghamton to a 12-6 romp over Akron. Burgamy ended up with seven runs batted in to pace the B-Mets attack. The night before Darrell Ceciliani slammed a pair of home runs in a doubleheader sweep for the B-Mets.
Coming into the fifth and final game of the series tonight the B-Mets have won three straight and four of their last five for a 35-30 record. The RubberDucks are 39-27 heading into tonight's action.
Greg Peavey gets the start for Binghamton. He is 3-1 with the B-Mets this season and also made three starts with Triple-A Las Vegas earlier this season. Akron counters with Joe Colon who is 5-3 with an ERA of 2.91.
Tonight's game is scheduled for a 7:05 start (air at 6:50 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF). The B-Mets return tomorrow night for a weekend series against the Erie SeaWolves.
