Binghamton Mets Electrify Baseball in Education Day Fans With Home Win
The Binghamton Mets defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7-2 today before 5,864 fans on Baseball in Education Day at NYSEG Stadium. With most of that crowd area elementary school students the B-Mets won their sixth game in their last seven outings and wrapped up the homestand with a victory.
Hansel Robles started and earned the win for Binghamton. Brian Burgamy led the way offensively with three hits including a two-run home run. The B-Mets earned their eighth series win of the season and upped their record to 30-22. Tthe Fisher Cats drop to 18-35.
The B-Mets hit the road for three games in New Britain. The first game in the series is set for 6:50 tomorrow night (airtime at 6:35 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). The teams play at 6:35 Saturday night and 1:35 on Sunday. Following a day off next Monday Binghamton travels to Altoona for three straight next Tuesday thru Thursday. Binghamton returns home next Friday for three straight against the Rock Cats at NYSEG Stadium.
